Ingredients
- One whole pomfret
- 2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Marinade
- Clean the pomfret and make three or four slits on each side.
- In a mixing bowl, add ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, lemon juice, and salt to taste.
- Mix the ingredients well to form a paste.
- Apply the marinade to the pomfret, making sure to apply it evenly on both sides.
- Cover the pomfret and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Frying the Pomfret
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadhai.
- Once the oil is hot, gently add the pomfret to the oil.
- Fry the pomfret on medium heat for 6-7 minutes on one side.
- Gently flip the pomfret and fry for another 6-7 minutes on the other side.
- Remove the pomfret from the oil and let it rest on a plate for a few minutes.
Presentation
- Place the fried pomfret on a serving dish.
- Garnish with lemon wedges, coriander leaves, and sliced onions.
- Serve hot with steamed rice and dal.
